Does your piggy seem to have a favourite vegetable or fruit?

Patch and Snowy both have a favourite of cucumber. When i take them there food they always go for the cucumber first.

What is your piggies favourite ?

Its cucumber too!

They love grass even more, but dont think that counts as fruit or veg.

I'm not sure..they love most foods lol..it's hard for me to say "this is their favourite" because then I think of something else which they love!

They enjoy corn on the cob, pepper, cabbage, cauliflower, brocolli, kale, spinach, watercress, carrot etc..

Well mine love it ;D

mine love corn, broccoli, kale, savoy cabbage and strawberries... corn is definately their favourite at the moment!

You should'nt give piggies cabbage and broccoli more than once or twice a month. Overtime this can cause bloat which can kill your piggie! Also, my pigs love romaine lettuce.

Mine love corn on the cob, especially the leaves.
I give mine broccoli everyday.
Broccolli and cabbage are very gassy foods and if fed in large quantities may cause bloat but are fine if given in small amounts.

Wow! I didn't think they would like Basil (I've never seen it listed in any of the books or websites) so never tried it. My husband grows his own fresh Basil on our kitchen windowsill so wil;l try my little fella on it tonight.

Does anyone feed their piggies fresh mint? Hubby grows that at home too so have got ample supply!

Guess I'll have to start experimenting a bit more! ...

His all time fave has to be cucumber. He is also more than a little partial to apples, plums, and sweetheart cabbage. He will have a go at celery but only if it's got the little leafy bits at the end! Turns nose up at tomatoes and melon.

Mine all adore Parsley and it has to be a favourite with all of them, however EVERYTHING is tested by all of mine for edibleness! - I go to great lengths as we all do to give them the best freshest veggies and when I was cleaning them out the other night I found Cubby at the other end of my black sack where he had chewed a hole and was eating trimmings off the veggies he'd just had for his tea! 98)

Yep, they can have fresh mint too, mine love it almost as much as basil. They are not so keen on parsely, but I only give them a little now and then.

Hay does make up the bulk of their diet but they should have veg and droed pellets too, they cannot make their own vitamin C, so veg, grass etc is v important :)

Mine loves any herb you throw at them: dill, basil, mint and parsley being their favourite.

Veg-wise, I've found (apart from cucumber which they adore) they prefer the more 'scented' types like celery, green peppers, red peppers.

The favourites for mine have to be parsley, spinach and carrots. They also enjoy the odd dandelion leaf as a treat. Cucumber and broccoli are good too.

Mine only eat the stalks not the florets - but I like the florets so it's perfect really! The stalks are quite hard too so it gives their teeth some exercise. Apparently there's just as much (if not slightly more) goodness in the stalks.

my piggies favs are tomatos, cucumber, carrot tops, corn on cob, kale and spinach. they eat most things really, but dont touch pepper or celery (sp). they will eat stalks of brocoli but not the florets.

cucumber and kale always go first no matter what else is in the bowl! Al loves an occasional grape and Wen re-tries them every time they are offered (in case they taste different i think!) but still doesnt like them!
