Mine get pellets first thing when I wake up, even before I'm fully awake or anything. They sure have me trained with their wheeking! If they hear the bed creak from me rolling over in my sleep, they recognize that sound and wheek excitedly, hoping I'm going to get up to feed them.
While they eat, I take advantage of them not being in the hay area to clean out the poops. Then I replenish the hay. I sweep the poops out of the rest of the cage and give them some veggies, strategically placing them in certain locations so I can sweep the poops out of the area they were in.
When I get home from work, I repeat the same routine, giving the veggies in certain locations to free up areas to clean. I then replenish the hay and refill the water bottles. I might wash the water bottles and pellet bowls out completely at this time as well. Later on, before I go to bed a check the water bottles, cage cleanliness and hay supply again.
I choose to give the veggies multiple times a day because my pigs are very grabby with the veggies. I worry that the more timid pigs might not get their share. My reasoning is more veggie times a day, more chances for everyone to get their share. But I can only manage two veggie times in my schedule. I just split the reasonable veggie amount for my five pigs in half, giving half at each meal time.
When I give the pigs their veggies though, I only give one type of veggie at a time. I want my pigs to have a balanced diet, but my pigs all have their preferences. Frolic loooooves red pepper and would eat her share and everyone else's if she could. Bliss would gladly let her because she's not too keen on it. So to prevent this, I give everyone a piece of something and wait for them to be done before I give them the next thing. It takes longer to feed them this way, but I believe it's better for my pigs this way.
Oh! And I give them leaf lettuce, celery, red pepper, and cucumber daily. I've recently decided to add a little bit of cilantro into their daily diet too. I also sometimes get Belgium endive for them. They sometimes get a small guinea pig mouthful size piece of carrot or banana or one blueberry as a treat from time to time as a treat. They also sometimes get spinach, but I'm trying to be careful not to feed them too much.
