hi guys

i have realised over the past day or so I'm feeding the pigs far to much veg after seeing a post on here. Iv also noticed their poo has been soft (not diareaha) and I'm wondering if this could be the result of giving so much veg.

iv been measuring portions out since yesterday and iv measured 5 grams EACH of 5 different veg to give to them and iv been doing the same in the evening.

Could anyone let me know if this is too much? it looks like a tiny amount to me, and they have walloped it as soon as i have put it in....however, they are used to eating mountains of veg by now haha.

The soft poop is probably down to too much fresh veg, but I would recommend to slowly reduce their portions over the course of a week instead of changing all at once. That way, they won't feel as hard done by and have time to adjust to the new regime.

Make sure that you have PLENTY of hay to compensate (and then some!) - they will eat LOTS of it instead.

thanks for this i will do. iv noticed they have been eating a lot more nuggets than normal as well. which is good because they werent eating many nuggets at all when i was stuffing them up with veg.

I suppose i just got to get the right balance for them. I will makesure they have mountains of hay...

Do you think the amount iv weighed for them this morning is right, or should i do 50g in the morning and 50g in the evening...

they r turning into little chubbies x

iv checked their poop its still soft compared to what it was when i got them.

i am wondering if... they are getting too much vitamin c as when i got them i was using vitamin c supplement as they hadnt tried veg yet... but now... they are having 2 lots of veg a day so do i need to keep on with the vitamin c supplement? do we think this could be an overload thats causing the soft poo...

if they are getting the right veg they won't need a suppliment! Not sure if that could cause the soft poo though. Did you give loads of diff veg all at once? You should get them one thing for a few days then try the next thing and so on but now they have had things you may as well keep feeding those things. Try not to introduce anything new though until the are sorted.

You haven't changed their nuggets suddenly have you as that could upset them too!
