A couple of weeks ago I adopted Eevie Marjorie (previous name buttons) from pets at home adoption centre in Sheffield. So baring in mind I haven't been in the shop for about 10 years I didn't know how much the guinea pigs were. When we bought our piggies from there when me and my brother were little they were £20 each. So anyway when I came to give a donation for Eevie Marge, they said their suggested donation is half of the price of the guinea pigs they sell in store but you can give whatever you like as it goes to the charity and not the store. So me thinking the piggies were still around £20 I gave them £10 for her. We went in today and I noticed that the guinea pigs they sell are £25 each. So I kinda feel like I have ripped off a lovely charity for £2.50. I looked in my purse and didn't have £2.50 in cash so didn't put any in the charity box to repay them. It may sound silly but I actually feel really bad as I think what they do for the homeless animals is wonderful. I will definitely make sure I have the money next time I go in. And what makes me feel worse is that I love her that much I genuinely would have been willing to pay ALOT more than £10 for her thinking about it now.

Don't feel bad, when I took my 2 newest on I donated £25 for both but when I got my last rabbit from there I donated £10.It all goes to charity and every little helps x

Don't worry about it P@H have more than enough money.... You have gave a piggy a wonderful home, please don't worry about £2.50. Eevie Marjorie has the most perfect home with you and that is the most important thing.

Thank you :) yeah I suppose your right and I have given her a little friend in honey who she loves and cuddles up with and Eevie has made honey so happy and they hate being apart. I think I will still put the £2.50 in the charity box next time though to stop myself feeling so guilty :)

When I have adopted from pets at home adoption centre they have said the same thing but added "we usually ask for a minimum £12". Anyhow, when I adopted Lily at the weekend I donated £15 so consider your donation covered :)

I think I gave £25 or something like it when I brought the hooligans home. Man just thinking about it feels like it was a lifetime ago.

There isn't really a set amount tbh...if there was, they'd insist on a minimum. That's on them, it definitely isn't on you.
