Well I at the rescue today and there was a lady with a long haired piggy called foxy that she got from a notorious pet shop (fingers and everything else crossed please god don't let her be pregnant), and i am sure she is a lovely person but what she is doing with a guinea pig is beyond me! I am very sure foxy is well loved, but the lady originally came thinking about bonding her with another piggy so she did not live on her own, but decided she didn't want the responsibility of adoption PAPERWORK as she is going to india is a few months for two months and is going to leave foxy with a friend, and then when she gets back is planning on staying on friends bedroom floor and couches.

Foxy was a darling little girl that would steal anyones heart including mine, and i spent a good half an hour trying to sort her long hair out for her (she is a curly coated long haired piggy) as it was starting to matt bless her:(

The lady did not seem to know anything about illnesses, or care as she was using normal disinfectant! We tried to sell her some Pet friendly disinfectant at a much discounted price then pet shops and she couldn't cope with the decision. Although we did convince her to buy a brush!

I still feel hollow inside knowing though she may be loved she could have a much better life with someone who knows about guinea pigs - Foxy was an impulse buy and was too cute to resist - and i am afraid it will be her downfall

Oh Eleanor I know exactly what you mean. It's quite hard knowing that while she's not going to be abused as such she wont get the care we all know can and should be given. Talk about frustrating.

Maybe coming to you will make her think about her rash decision, maybe she will come back and hand her over in a little while or find a much better home for her.

well her cage is made out of card board boxes and she was carried back on the train in what can only be described as a shopping bag! Foxy like many others out there deserves a proper piggy life!

OMG that's horrible. Poor Foxy.

Some people have no idea....

me too! I just hope she realise how irresponsible she is being! but the fact of the matter was she is her pig, if it was not so sad i would laugh as she offered to be a foster carer!

have not slept well can't get her out of my head! There is no way i could run a rescue, i think i would be permanently heart broken 8...

I know what you mean, there are alot of bad stories but don't let the bad outweigh the good. Think of how many pigs are given that second chance too live a happy life were they are loved and Cherised.

It would be lovely to help every animal but it is just not possible. We can only do our best but I know for one, there are alot of pigs out there that have had a terrible start but now have a happy life all because of rescues and good people, so all is not lost! xx>>>

well should she come back i have emailed Fi and said i will foster her, there is nothing more i can do for her, just going to spend time cuddling my piggies safe in the knowledge they have everything they need and more!
