Any ideas on what that might be? I wanted to research before off to the vet. Last time I took them it was a hundred bucks for them to tell me my sows were fine.

Is it a scab? And is there hair loss? And has any other piggies got signs of it? Does she mind you touching it/is it irritating?

Sorry for the questions, could be a nip from another piggy but wanna rule out some sort of mite problem :)

It sounds like a grease gland to me. Boars' grease glands are generally more (over)active, but occasionally they do in sows, too.
Please have a look at the boar guide; it has got pictures of a dirty grease gland as well as tips on what to do.

A photo would be great.

I had a boar years ago with a random black, rough mark on his skin. The vet removed it and sent it away for testing. It turned out to be nothing to worry about. Ir was a very strange little patch.
