We took Midge for a conscious x-ray yesterday unfortunately nothing really showed up but while she was there she peed and the vet was able to check her urine. There is a lot of blood there so ee have decided on more definitive x-rays next week to check her bladder/ kidneys to check for stones. There is no visible blood but the occasional squeaky wee. Midge is on 0.4ml septrin twice a day, 0.4ml metacam (dog) daily and a nutracys + capsule daily as well as 100mg vit c. Any other suggestions as to what I can do to help. She has plenty of hay/ forage to nibble including timothy and plenty of 'wet' vegetables to keep her hydrated as she doesn't tend to drink a lot. At the moment because her weight isn't too good she is being topped up with cc with fruit baby food added. Forgot to mention she's on itrafungal for ringworm. Thanks

I hope that she will get better soon and start putting weight back on!

I would syringe her plenty of fluids if she is not a good drinker to help flush the bladder. The Nutracys is good as it contains Quercetin which I will shortly be trialling on my IC pigs as it is supposed to be very effective. If you can, remove the fruit baby food as fruit can make things worse.

What dry food do you feed? and what veg do you feed?

She's on a mixture of gertie, burgess (yellow) bag and modal. She tends not to eat a lot of hard food though sticking to her hay and forages. As for veg she has cucumber most days, romaine or a small portion of baby leaf for supper. Peppers, carrots, broccoli, sweetcorn or sweetheart cabbage - not every day but spread over a week. She's partial to shredded beetroot. We also separate her in the cat box and give her grass so she can eat in peace. She also enjoys melon and the occasional piece of banana.

OK, I would stop all fruuit for a while plus the romaine, sweetcorn and baby leaf. My Johnny had stones after a diet that included romaine every day plus lots of sweetcorn. As for the dry food neither Burgess or Gertie are ideal but is good that she doesn't eat much of it.

My pigs are on a bladder friendly diet which consists of:

Spring greens
Pepper
Cucumber
Green beans
Celery

and these pellets which are low in protein and calcium:

They literally have a few pellets each a day which I break up, Maddie had pure blood in her wee and this has disappeared since starting on these pellets.

Can't add anything to what has been said above, just wanted to send some vibes and hope the further tests go okay
