I recenlty purchased some oxbow timothy hay for the boys to try and because of the snow etc it got delayed but now it has finally arrived and smells absolutely gorgeous! Its the 4kg one and ive stored it on my landing for now and the aroma of it fills the house,i love the smell and am sure the boys will like it!

From the smell and green look i will definalty be purchasing more once this has all gone.:))

Hey hun I bought a taster and it looked fab I'm sure they will gobble it right up.

Could you photo the size of the 4kg for me or give me the measurements? I need to know how big a container it comes in as I'm stuck for storage space.

Here are the pictures of the box and the hay inside in the plastic bag that it says you can store it in.

The measurements are width 7.5 inches and the length 23 inches. Thats the box and the hay fits snuggle in the box but i suppose once its opened it cant stay in it. They have alfalfa king timothy hay at the moment so once that's gone they will have the oxbow.

It smells so nice i want to eat it!:(|)

That's exactly the hay I used for my piggies, and they loved it. And I was very happy always with the quality, plus - as you say - the smell was wonderful. I had my piggies in the living room, and people often commented on the hay smell.

How many piggys do you have? I was trying to work out how long it will last them.:)

Thanks hun I could store that easily and I will be interested to hear how long it last's you. :(|)

I was surprised too how easy it is to store and if they like it, I'm sure they will i will be buying the large 11kg pack or the 25kg depending on how long this one lasts. :)

I don't have any piggies now, as sadly I had to rehome them. But I had three, in two cages, and I confess (despite the expense) I used to be VERY generous with the hay so perhaps it didn't last as long as it should have. But of course the larger the size you buy, the more economical it is, if you are able to store it anywhere. I kept mine in the shed.

Sorry that you had to re home your piggys.

Shall be buying the larger size once this one has all gone. Its already a BIG hit with me. :))

Sorry that you had to re home your piggys. Thanks - sadly it was unavoidable, but they've gone to lovely homes, and I do get updates on them.

Hope you're enjoying your Christmas Day.

'Sorry piggys i promise not to eat anymore!' ***munch munch***

I bought the 4kg bag. Mmmmmmmmmm hay!

The Oxbow hay smells good enugh for us humans to eat, the pigs usually find it irresistable!

Glad it finally arrived. I'm in the process of planning the boxes I'm going to be ordering throughout 2010. Six 22kg boxes altogether; one box ordered every two months, alternating between Orchard Grass and Timothy. How the heck 12 relatively small animals get through 132kg of hay a year I don't know!

Wow that is alot of hay to get through in a year! I'm so glad that i have finally switched to the oxbow as it smells very irresistible and you can see the excellent quality. :))

I can't wait till mine... arrives to now... Eeek the excitement, I might just eat it instead of giving it to the pigs lol!
