Fingers crossed for Terfel!

Please keep your fingers crossed for Terfel tomorrow! Sadly, my suspicion has been proven right last Friday that Terfel has a bladder stone; he's had an x-ray parallel to Hafina's op.

Terfel has been to Northampton to be seen by Simon Maddock today and will be operated on tomorrow. Furryfriends will care for him until his post op check next week; she has fostered Terfel earlier this year for RNGP Welfare Rugby and is in easy reach of the clinic should there be problems. After the fiasco with Hafina, I know that Terfel is in the best of hands possible.

Caron has gone with Terfel today and is staying on with him; thankfully, her bladder was found to be completely free of stones and crystals - her problem is a fairly antibiotic resistant UTI, but at least nothing more!

Anyway, I am off to South Wales tomorrow to bring home a little playmate for Tegan Syndod from Suzygpr; this trip has been planned and booked before all the medical upheaval in order to give the newbie ample time for bonding and settling in before Christmas. I will be kept updated during the day.

My life has certainly not suffered from boredom lately! :{
 
Oh I wish him good luck. Poor little baby. Oh how lovely to get a little friend and from Suzy too. I cannot wait to see the newbie. :)
 
It's lovely having Terfel back here, although I wish it was under better circumstances. I still think of him as Chapati. Caron has been hiding away, but Terfel seems very at home - I wonder if he remembers being here! I will keep everyone posted tomorrow on his progress.
 
Fingers crossed for him today!

He has the advantage that he is young and still in good nick, so that will hopefully help him cope well.

But I should ask for a new set of nerves for a Christmas present...

You were a great comfort to me when my Harley had his stone and underwent surgery and my boys had their neutering so all I can say is am thinking of you. Terfel could not be in better hands as sport billy said :)
Sending loads of healing vibes for his speedy recovery - my Harley's stone was the biggest our vet had ever seen and still have the offending thing on my shelf in the kitchen, can't part with it for some reason ?/ :{
Keep us updated and how wonderful to be having a newbie, it's so exciting to be bringing them home to live with us :))
 
Just heading over to vets with Terfel, and Caron who is going to hold his paw.

It's going to be a long day. I know he isn't mine, but when these little guys are in my care I love them and care about them as if they were my own. Terfel has a very special place in my heart anyway, as I fostered him this year for Rabbit and Guinea Pig Welfare. I will always think of him as my special little Chapati!

Anyway I will keep you all updated. Simon does ops in the afternoon so there will be no news for a while.

Well, I've just been Wiebke'd. A flying visit thanks to the problems with the trains caused by lightning strikes, so a swift tour of the rescue, a cuppa, meeting her new addition to the family and popping her in a carrier, then back off to the station - all in just over an hour. Whiz whiz!

Wow what a day! Hope Terfel is ok. He really is in the best place.

So exciting to have a new Christmas playmate for Tegan. She is so beautiful she'll need someone special.

Any news on Terfel yet ?

Congratulations on your new addition - hope you got home safely... lightening strikes sounds scary ! Looking forward to pigtures and a proper introduction of the lucky tribe-newbie when you get the chance :)

My mobile unfortunately died on the way back, but I managed to get Debbie's message that Simon couldn't find any sign of a stone on a pre-op x-ray from a different angle. So no operation! Feeling VERY relieved, but a bit sheepish after all that hubbub...

Little Hedydd has safely arrived and is starting to settle in in a pen with Tegan. They are already well into a lively discussion about who is coming out on top.

:<> Aw, that is such good news - no surgery xx>>> Always a worry but what a relief this must be for you and Terfel. Is she still at Debbies and when will she be home ?/
Can picture Hedydd and Tegan bickering over who is top pig rolleyes :)) What a pretty name - what is the meaning of it :)
