Poor little chap! It's his right front tooth, there is still a little bit at the top. I've checked the cage over but can't see the missing bit anywhere...i really hope he didn't swallow it. It is quite difficult to look on the vet bed though as it's such a thick pile.

I've checked and he is eating fine, I weigh him weekly so I'll keep a special eye on him. I know it will grow back, but I was wondering do piggies teeth have nerves like ours? Will it be painful for him? :(

My old boar did this once he was chewing something he shouldn't have been so he learned his lesson, he didn't seem as though it hurt him and it didn't affect his eating, and soon levveled up to the other one

Paddy ran into a wall soon after I got him and managed to break his top teeth off! He still ate fine and it didn't seem to bother him.

Thanks guys! I suspect he was probably chewing the C&C bars...

Jeff broke both of his upper incisors off by chewing the cage bars when he was at the RSPCA, they grew back in no time at all!

He should be able to eat ok, Jeff managed with no top toofies, if he struggles, just chop his food into bite sized pieces.

He shouldn't have any problems, but just watch them as they grow back to make sure they're aligning properly.

Just one snapped tooth should provide no problems - he should still be able to eat normally and the tooth will grow back quickly.

Poor Finley, hope the girls give him extra hugs and snuffles.

Kisses to him xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

PS Misty still thinks he is lovely, even with a chipped tooth! xx

Awww, poor little man! That won't do him any help in attracting the ladies :))

aww poor finley!
One of my old boars, Charles did this but I took him to the vet as it left the tooth really lose. The vet removed it and it grew back fine its just that for a while they were very out of line and obviously one was always longer so the vet kept clipping them in line every now and then until normality was resumed, might just wanna keep an eye on the toofies length, depending on how bad he has chipped it x

Awww, poor Finley, sending tooth growing vibes his way!

:)):)) it doesn't look pretty!

Thanks for all the wonderful advice guys, it's really helpful. I'll keep a close eye for alignment and eating doesn't seem to be a problem at all. Will post/take to vets if I notice any problems but he's just his normal happy self so I don't think it's bothering him at all :)

Aww I can sympathise as my Wispa broke both her front two teeth but they grew back to normal size within a week or two. I just had to chop up her food very small because she refused to eat big bits - the first day she would only eat green beans by hand (although I think that was more to get attention from me than 'she couldn't do it' :))). Just shows how quickly their teeth grow!

Just to let everyone know Fins tooth is nearly back to level with his other one and perfectly aligned - phew! That grew back in no time! xx>>>
