I came home today and when I entered my room it smelled a bit fishy? Even my roommate walked in and said it smelt like an aquarium, has this ever happened to anyone else?

Maybe one of your neighbors cooked fish? I'm assuming you live in an apartment.

That is odd then. The only time I have odd smells around my house is when some critter dies inside of the walls. :vom:

Do any of your pigs smell fishy? We had one suddenly start smelling like fish. We took him to the vet, they weren't sure what it was but they put him on antibiotics. The smell went away so I assume it was some sort of infection to his nethers.

I’ve smelt a strange smell that could be described as fishy before when my boar was younger and unneutered. Sometimes he would get quite ‘wound up’ and my spayed (and old) sow would have none of it. He would just stink for a day or so.

I would pick your guinea pigs up and smell them. My Nancy's bottom smelt of fish when she had an infection. Even the bedding she was on smelt.

I would check their cage, if it’s got a fishy smell it could be an infection?

When my boars get wound up, chasing each other around and dragging their bottoms everywhere and there's no ventilation it can stink like fish, but its not a consistent or overly pungent smell, but you can definitely track it back to its source. I can just tell when one of the boys is having a spike of testosterone.

Are your pigs boars by any chance?

A fishy smell in a room can also be a sign of issues with the electrics in said room, and not necessarily the pigs themselves.

I forgot about that one! That needs checked out if it isn't from a piggy.
