Hello all

I currently use puppy pads with Fitch on top in the cage, and the girls are due for a clean out in several days time.

For the pen I was thinking of puppy pads and getting some fleece made, but I'm unsure. Is there any other substrate available like fleece that could be used? Only the girls will kick out the Fitch on to the rug and the pen will be taken down every night until it's needed for the next night. I'm looking for something very quick and easy to put down and remove.

What will the pen be used for? And for how long? Is this mainly just for some run around floor time?
If so then fleece liner would be easiest. Or just a fleece blanket on top pf puppy pads. If it's only.for an hour or two each evening you wouldn't even have to wash the liner each time. You could probably use.it for a few nigts before washing.
To be honest, when I put mine in the bathroom for floor time I just puy a thick blanket on the floor, I don't even bother with anything underneath. I put the litter tray in too with hay in so they do most of their business in that, but its nothing fancy on the floor, just a thick blanket.

.. I agree - fleece on top of puppy pads should be OK for a daily run .

It's only going to be for several hours per night, but I want something soft for their paws. My OH said just leave the plastic base as it is, but I want something down just in case they do wee and for their little paws.

I think that I care too much

Is definitely put something down or they will end up with wet tummy sand bums. A liner made to size would probably be easiest, but you could also throw a towel or two down and some fleece on top....or like GPcrazy said just a thick blanket would do :) X

Thank you both.

With liners do you simply wash in the machine? If so, where could I get some from? Are they like fleece because you have to wash them several times before use?

Yes, just wash in the machine when soiled. This might be every 3-4 days or once a week depending how much the wee on it.
If you're buying a ready made liner the seller/make normally preps the fleece first so it should be ready to use, but might be worth asking them. To be doubly sure, when you get it drip some water on it. If the water disappears right into the fabroc it's ready to use. If it pools on top you need to wash it first.

Fab I've purchased a lap pad and a double snuggle pouch for the winter. All I need is a 1metre by 1 metre liner for the run
