Our new boar is an all black aby - colour and breed new to me.

This morning when I was holding him I noticed that his ears had something like fine white powder on them. I am guessing that it is just something like dry skin and is showing up more because his skin is quite dark and he doesn't have particularly hairy ears (!). Can I moisturise or should I just leave well alone? There is no sore or red skin there.

It could be dry skin but it could also be fungal, they can get a type of white bloom on their ears, my Nigel had it, and Sport Billy has been treating fungal on his little sow's ear too. You would need to see a vet for a definite diagnosis though and they should provide you with something to treat it. Sport Billy was given a cream but on Nigel's ears I used topical Imaverol.
