We have 5 GPs living indoors, two sisters and the unexpected triplets. I had decided to try fleece bedding as I was tired of the house being covered with sawdust and straw and the time it took to clean and the amount of waste. We were also creeping around in the kitchen as the slightest rustle sent the GPs into a wheeking overdrive. Its very hard to open a pack of weetabix quietly as I now know. Still if ever I decide to change career and become a cat burglar it may put me in good stead.

So, I ordered some fleeces and tunnels etc from Ziggies Piggies and a DAP diffuser from Amazon which all arrived before Christmas and what a transformation!

My cleaning routine is now remove dirty fleece,, clean cage, put in new fleeces, put a puppy liner on top of fleece on day 1. Day 2 I take out the puppy liner and mess and spot clean on evening. Day 3 start again. They still have straw in their cage in their dens if its cold, as well as in their hay bag which Zoe likes to use as a hammock. I put the dried fleeces over their cage every evening to keep out drafts . It is so much quicker and there's less mess.

As for the DAP diffuser, so far so good the guineas are their happy selves, still wheeking if they want food but not at the slightest noise.

I just thought I would share this as so far this has worked but I know its early days and how easily things can change in the world of guinea pigs!

All mine have been on fleece for nearly a year now. I wouldn't go back to the paper bedding I was using before. Cleaning up with fleece is so much easier and quicker.
And the fact that all my piggies are toilet-trained helps, too!
