Does anyone use a nice thick fleece as bedding? how do you find it? I'm on the look out for a change of bedding since I got the girls, Candy with her long hair and Abbie who could wee for England ;D

I have Lottie on towel & fleece. I bought fleecy baby blankets from our £ shop, they measure 75cm x 102cm
I've also got some fleecy pet blankets, these meas. 80cm x 120cm & have paw prints on them :)

Does the wee soak through or does the top stay soaking wet? I would be usinf fleeces from ikea they are quite large so I would fold them over a couple of times

The wee is meant to soak through the top to be absorbed by a layer of usually towels beneath it :) I have some massive blankets I bought at a car boot sale (new, unused) really cheap and a few from dunelm mills too, then I have a couple of layers of towels under the fleece, and lots of newspaper under that :)

If you don't wash it a couple of times before you use it the wee sits on the top otherwise it goes thru' to the towel. Lottie sits in one place at the mo :( & she's never wet underneath :)

Fleece is used as a wetness barrier with washable nappies because it isn't absorbant - it just lets the wet through. So I'm sure its the same with piggies :)

I did find my piggies have been drawn to fleece and vetbed to use as a toilet! I love this stuff:

It's about £8 for a huge bale if you buy 3.

I'm confused: I thought fleece was vetbed? Are fleece blankets the cellular ones for babies with loads of holes in? (Rats, just got rid of quote a few along with baby equipment!)

Ahh, thanks, Niki, I get it now! Vetbed looks much fluffier in the pics.

I got the majority of my fleece at Ikea. It costs around a couple of quid per blanket. I also got some thicker, better quality stuff from a fabric shop.

Yes thats the one I was thinking of using, £2.59 Polar Fleece, have one as a dog blanket already and it washes lovely.

i got some et blackets form the pound shop to put on my knee when having couldes and to put in pet carrer whe need to go vet etc
