So, I have one of my girls who it seems that she is allergic to vegetables. Romaine lettuce in particular... I can only give her two carrots every two days (spaced out times that is) and there are vegetables where both won't touch them at all.

Now I know with allergies you have to avoid these foods. Is there anyway to give her romaine lettuce without too many consequences? I am going to give her a leaf every 3 days to let her system settle. They get vita drops in their water as well.

Now is it possible for a guinea pig to have food allergies? And keep in mind that this is Bugs I am talking about and not Oreo

Just bumping this up for you.

What is happening to her after Romaine lettuce? One of our girls gets very wet poo's after Roamine so I have removed it from her diet all together. I would say that if a certain food upsets them you should leave it out all together.

Hope Bug's and Oreo are well, enjoyed seeing pigtures of them the other day.

When bugs eats lettuce, she farts up a storm and then lets out some real nasty smelling poos. I have since taken that away from her and her poos are back to normal and she has no farts at all. Oreo has no food adversions so she basically gets what she wants haha.

Bugs can have apples and carrots for vitamin C and when we give lettuce for Oreo we have to separate them because Bugs will steal it from her

Perhaps my Bumble is allergic to something - I get a smell like a farting great dane every so often - which isnt funny when he sleeps about 8 inches away from my face!

Well it is smelly and then its put back in the cage for her because the smell is strong but now she hasn't farted and that so we are all good
