I know some people who use those little kiddie plastic footstools as houses for their guinea pigs - they are just high enough for piggies to hop onto, enough space to hide underneath, and four entrances so no piggy can get cornered by the others.
similar to something like this:
I bought 2 today to try it out - and one footrest only cost 1.99, so compared to the usual guinea pig houses they are dirtcheap
My husband now brought up the question if they are safe for piggies to nibble on - I said I would think they are as safe as any plastic object, so I dont think there is much difference between the stuff you buy in a petshop, and those. He thinks that the petshops might use special plastic, that is non-toxic etc.
Any experience with this?
(I think: If I survived chewing and eating lego pieces as a kid, my pigs will survive the occasional nibble on a footstool...)
