I have been super interested in getting more guinea pigs. However, as I don't want to disrupt my current bond -Igby and Petunia- and dont completely know how life with more than two pigs is, I was wondering if fostering would be a good idea? There is a rescue near me that I could foster from. Any opinions on fostering? I think I would have the guinea pig(s) in a separate cage, but with connecting grids. Should there be anything i should be aware of before I make the decision to do this?

So, I actually have a question about quarantine. Would that just be me putting a foster into a separate cage, which is in another room? For how long? And during that quarantine I would have to be weighing them, and checking them daily? Then after a certain amount of days I am able to put the foster in the cage next my own guinea pigs? I'm just a tad confused haha

When you quarantine a piggy it is done in a separate cage and ideally in a separate room so nothing can be passed to your piggies. Quarantine should be for two weeks. Yes you would be checking them and weighing them as routine.
You would have to discuss it with the rescue centre you intend on helping.
