found a friend for keith my single boar

right well as not having much luck with rescue centres for boar dating
i found on gumtree a 2 year old single male who recently lost his cage mate and the women said she didnt want to go through it again, this was 2 weeks ago
so i introduced them today and all went well so they were then bathed together and put in a completely new cage with a different bedding for now and all is ok so far lots of rumbling and smells coming from the cage but so far so good, keith is even popcorning about as normal, they have 2 of everything in their
am hoping they can stay together as our keith has been on his own for ages and the new piggie ovbiously misses his friend
 
Congratulations, hope the bonding continues to go well. Does your new piggie have a name yet?
 
were not sure yet hes black with a few tan bits, we like boris or patch
will get a photo at some point
they have both just woke up and are all over each other both of them seem to take it in turns so either one doesnt mind being on the receiving end! lol
 
there has been some chattering during the night i stayed sownstairs with them and slept on the sofa so not to leave them
still some chattering every now and again and a few lungs but then they are fine, no blood shed so shall i leave them to it
 
2 weeks on and still going well
we have now renamed the new boar treacle hes quite a shy pig which is why i think it works so well as keith is quite bossy
will get some pics and post asap
 
Great news on the successful bonding Sarah, that's always wonderful news! I'm sure anyone who's ever kept boars knows what troublemakers they can be if they aren't completely settled :)
Whee all hope that Treacle and Keith have a lovely happy life together :)
