As most of you are probably aware my 2 boars had a little tiff so i thought i would update you all.
This foxys injury to his eye he is on baytril and the staple will be removed in 10 days. This wound did not look that bad until the vet cleaned it out he is very lucky not to have lost his eye.

They were both in shock at first but after an hour getting back from the vets Foxy was at the bars lording it over Choco so i have put a blanket up as choco is still very upset by all of this but is still eating just very nervy.
They will now remain seperated 8...8... but its for the best.

Oh gosh what an awful injury. I am glad you have decided to separate them.

Ouch! It's amazing that Foxy didn't lose his eye, that really looks like a close thing. Did Choco need any stitches or glue or anything on his ear?

Poor piggies - hope they heal up very quickly x

i decided not to touch chocos ear, they could of done something but that would of hurt him and the ear will just heal torn it makes no difference to him it would of been for cosmetic reasons and as he was a rescue piggy he is still nervy and was extremely stressed out at the vets so i decided to leave him be. He has had all his wounds bathed and they are heaing nicely and he gets a check up in 10 days as well.

Poor boys. They are so naughty doing that to each other and putting you through this. :(
(((((hugs)))))

I also wouldn't have got treatment purely for cosmetic reasons. Fingers crossed they're better soon x

aw hun its so awful isn't it? My boars fell out but didnt hurt each other, the chattering and chasing just scared me into seperating them for a few days.

Am I right in thinking you had these from Helen at the Potteries?
I think I saw them on her website, I've had 3 piggies from her, a young boar for my older one when he lost his cage mate (all good with them pair) and 2 recently, Flinn (1 year old) and winston (was 9 weeks when I got him, now about 12) and as I said, mine started squabbling, they're ok now but I rang Helen for some advise, sounds like you've done the right thing to seperate them after this :( but she did mention living side by side or with a dvision, maybe thats something to think about for the future so no one is lonely.

Hope they heal and get well soon and good luck with whatever you choose to do :)

Aw hun, poor you for having to go through that, and poor boys they look like really nasty injuries. Hope they heal up soon and stay infection free. I had two boys that had a fight which ended up with blood drawn and I know how upsetting it is. (((hugs))

yes i did get them from the potteries thats why I'm sad they were happy until they came to my house, but boys will be boys they will live side by side but i have a towel up as foxy is chomping at the bars and being very mean to choco. Helen and Claire have been fantastic i have been on the phone every night and they have been so helpful as we thought it was them coming to a new home and would settle down as only little bit of chattering and rumbling and a tiny ear nip but then when this happened there was no going back, luckily i was in and seperated them but the damage was done all these injuries occured in the time it took me to get up and seperate them. I now have 4 lone boars :(|) so hopefully no one will get lonely but would be nice if they could pretend to get on.

Its so good to have the back up of a good rescue isnt think i would of had a break down without there help.

i know i was shaking its like a cartoon isnt it i can laugh now a big mass of fur rolling down a hill, i hope that it doesnt get infected too I'm keeping my fingers crossed the eye was very dirty when he cleaned it out.

thank you for asking so far so good foxys eye is looking good touch wood no signs of infection and choco is healing nicely he is still very quiet though so i am rearranging the cages tonight so my quieter boar dylan is inbetween them as dylan doesnt get upset by foxy.

Glad the wounds are healing nicely. Hope putting Dylan between the two will relax Foxy. Will keep fingers and paws crossed x

Oh golly gosh! They really did go for it didn't they! Glad they're healing well, hope your nerves are recovering too! :...
