Hi everyone. I've always had male piggies but now have 2 gorgeous ladies. What I'd like to know is, is it normal behaviour for one lady piggy to try and mount her sister? They don't fight but today they've been going through spasms of chasing, trying to mount, then it all stops once they reach the food bowl. Lol. Any advice is gratefully received. Thank you xx

Haha! I have the same issues with my two girls. It’s just displaying dominance they will settle down eventually just have to wait it out. As long as there’s no drawing blood or aggressive fighting it’s normal :) :)

Thank you so much

It’s dominance behaviour or sometimes a strong season.
Unless it turns into full blown fights it’s fine and they’ll settle.
Mine are the same. When younger Jemimah was a real pain every time she was in season. It’s settled now but we still get the occasional rumbling and mounting.

Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry I haven't been on here much lately xx

It's all normal behaviour and nothing to worry about. It's always worse for us hooomans to watch than it is for the piggies to experience. My piggies are constantly nipping each other and displaying dominance with chin ups and stuff.

I’m afraid that this is normal sow behaviour. The following link gives more information about what you can expect. Sow Behaviour
