has anyone ever thought of putting fruit in the water, but of course changing it daily and not everyday!, guess it will be good to keep them hydrated in summer. Also the fruit could be frozen to keep water cool? Should I give this a go, who else will?

I'd be worried about the sugar content or the fruit going off in the bottle...

I think it is important to just give plain water.
Fruit (or anything else) in the water could effect how much they drink.

You could give fruit and veggies washed with extra water so it is wet. I give my piggies freshly washed lettuce. This weekend for the holiday my piggies got an extra special treat and had a few little peices of melon, lots of water (also sugar) in that and since they get maybe twice a year they were excited. But regardless they always have a bottle of just water.
You could even put a little water in a dish with veggies or fruit for an hour or two to increase their water consumption.
