Hello Bec

Welcome to the forum :)

I would advise getting him checked over at the vets.

Is he over chewing food or pawing at his mouth when he eats?

Hello amd welcome to the forum.
I second the vet check if you are feeling concerned.

Havent noticed the pawing but he does tend to nibble really fast on the food when he does eat and thanks for the welcome

Welcome! Any changes in guinea pig behaviour such as eating habits should be checked by a vet, if he’s normally got a healthy appetite it may indicate a problem. Hope your piggy gets sorted x
