We are going to see it.
Have seen a clip and it looks good.... only concern like others i think, is the fact they seem to run about in balls, and obviously people may want piggies, then decide they are too much effort and that they arent really like that! :(
will hold judgement on the actual film til i see it though.

I don't plan on seeing the movie. I do agree with mstori about people assuming that pigs are these cute and fuzzy little animals that can take care of themselves and neglect them ,or think they are very needy. Also, I think the concept of secret agent animals is a bit jaded *coughs* Cats and Dogs *coughs*.

Bad.... if disney wants to release so many animal films then get good info on your website on pet care for kids to understand!@)

Bad. The same thing is going to happen to guinea pigs that happened to fish and rats thanks to Finding Nemo and Ratatouille. It's a pity that Disney don't build a message that pets are for life into their films.

i completely agree, truthfully back when i was a kid when the home alone movies came out that had the snow white rat in them,my sister and i went straight out and got a pair of white rats,I'm just lucky that i had a mother that was very caring and helped us look after them, but not all people are like that,i wont be watching this film at all because i dont want to support the outcome of this movie x

it depends, i might watch it or i might not, i realy don't like disney for all theve done with pet movies, i recon they should stop bringing out films that give bad influace, it realy bugs me!:(!
:p to them!

Yep going to watch it. Yep going to educate people if I need to. Thats it, what else can you do. No point getting rattled it will be out in a couple of weeks. :)

Why thank you me dear! hehe! I just don't see what else we can do, educate people if needed but Disney would never listen to us. They just wnat the dollars to roll in.

to be honest my view is yes maybe there will be children wanting piggies after film but its the responsibilty of parents to say no. my daughter watches disney films and me and she has never wanted to go and buy animals just cause in films . i like films with fighting in and action doesnt mean i will go out and beat people up . thats what disney is there market is aimed at children.

True Shaz Emily loves Gremlins, she doesn't want one though! :))

i think the film will be fun , but i do worrie that guinea pigs as pets will become popular fro the wrong reasons resulting in more needing rehomed or worse ! x but am sorry i still want to see the film . xxashxx

dont be sorry every one is entitled to there own views . my daughter wants to see it so i will be taking her

I think it looks funny. The ball thing is a bit annoying but i highly doubt people will assume from the film that guinea pigs can look after themselves? Will they also assume they can talk? I'm with Louise, I educate the people I can, me not seeing the film will make absolutely no difference to anything xx

In the real world, they will never stop making films about animals and pets! For everyone person who sees this film and might make a BAD owner, there will also be a person who genuinely falls in love with guinea pigs and make a BRILLIANT owner. Not a great many people know what guinea pigs even are, and this film will raise awareness of that. Hopefully in turn rescues will see an increased interest, think positively guys!

Every person makes a difference and just because it looks good I will NOT give Disney my money and support all of the kids out their buying one guinea pig expecting it to kick down the doors and be some sort of secret angent, 'cos they are living animals, and as a guinea pig owner and lover, I refuse to give disney my money! It makes you none less a guinea pig lover or owner by going to see it, but my view is I won't support that. At all.:(

definantly agree,i know they will still make money off to many people to care about me not watching it but i feel almost guilty even thinking of it:(

I will probably wait to see it when it comes on DVD...I hate going to kids movies (or any movie in theaters anyway) because every single time someone brings a baby and it cries through the entire thing. rolleyes

People are gonna do what they're gonna do, and Disney is gonna do what they're gonna do....I don't know I am just a realist.

I am just trying to envision how many new pigs will be churned out to meet the suddenly increased demand with this film and then how many of them will end up in rescue centres in the ensuing three or four weeks once the novelty wears off.

As Lorna pointed out it's a shame they can't build in a wee bit of subtle education in their animal films. Yeah, I can't do anything about it but I can refuse to contribute to Disney's coffers by adding to their profits, so I definately will not be seeing it.

(I'm so boring aren't I!)

Not at all Julie! hehe You see its hard for me not to give in to the girls, they don't understand and I really don't want to spoil their fun! So when we go and see it I'll take a megaphone 'No putting piggys in balls!) :(|)

I'm defo boycotting Harry Potter though, for cruely against magical creatures! What? They aren't real? mallethead Kidding me!

Louise, it's understandable in your position if you have kids who have guineas in their lives and want to see something like this, but you are able to educate them alongside it - my concern is the parents who don't know any better, give in to the kids whims for a piggie and then can't be bothered to reseach either before or after!
(Make sure you take that megaphone! ;) )

OK, I do not believe there will be anymore of a "lets go out and buy a guinea pig" syndrome than there was when Cats and Dogs was released, this is virtually an exact copy of the above film! I feel that petshops are more aware of the problems such films can cause and I am sure the majority are more responsible, than when Nemo came out! I feel that there will also be some unscrupulous rescues out there too who will try to offload guineas without homechecks too.

This is the nature of the beast and there is nothing anyone can do to stop these films happening or some unscrupulous shops, breeders and some so-called rescues making a quick buck off the back!

Lets all do one thing! Enjoy the film for what it is and stop taking it so seriously! If you love guinea pigs for what they are then you wioll see and enjoy the fun element for what it is!!

Wooo Hoooo I canna wait! :)p:)p:)p:)p

I agree totally. In all the years running the rescue I never once got asked for guinea pigs because they had been seen in a film (and there are many that feature guinea pigs). I very much doubt people are going to rush out and buy guinea pigs after seeing G-Force. A guinea pig was heavily featured in the "bedtime stories" movie (also disney) and there wasnt a sudden rush of people purchasing guinea pigs then so I don't see this will be any different. Many people know I work in a pet shop and I don't think I can ever recall anyone wanting to buy a pet that has featured in a movie in the 13 years I have worked there rolleyes. I personally will be going to see G-Force and will take it for the light hearted fun it is supposed to be. Far too many people jump to conclusions that these sort of films will have a bad effect. I also noticed at the end of Beverly hills chihuahua (and I asume they will do the same for G-Force) they showed an ad supporting adoption if people did choose to get a pet :)

All these kiddies are going to be wanting a guineapig or guineapigs after seeing this (tho they and their parents have no knowledge will go out and purchase) there will be a big influx of sales and pet shops, breeders cashing in....withing a few weeks after finding out what it innolves having them boredome will set in and the likes of all the good folk on here trying to rehome enough unwanted piggies will be left to pick up the pieces. The same thing happened when 101 Dalamtions came out.
