OMG! So excited as my parents said yes to getting a friend for Bella!
Can’t wait! Is there anything I should know about their behaviour. Just in case they don’t get on very well. How can I manange it? Is there anything I should know?
Thanks a bunch!

Hi! Please carefully read this guide here; it tells you exactly which behaviours to look out for. If your two sows don't click, there is not much you can do about. But you can keep them as next door neighbours for mutual interaction and stimulation through the bars, which prevents depression.

To introduce them, have around 5-10 feet of space so they can roam around. Also, set up food and hiding places in case your new guinea pig gets scared. Good luck!

Please set up food (hay or fresh grass), but NO hiding spaces where your new piggy can cornered in and bite in defence; I've had that happening several times with fear-aggressive sows. Give any new piggies a few days to settle in first before bonding unless you get a pet shop baby that is above desparate for company and can't cope well with being alone.

Please take the time to read the guide I have written. The expecience from well over half a centrury of bondings has gone into it. It also contains pictures and some videos.

Just clarifying: should I put them in the same cage strap away or should let them meet each other on my lap...?

NEVER put a new guinea pig into an already occupied cage. That will cause rejection and an aggressive reations.

Let them meet in your shower or bathtub with a towel for grip. PLEASE read the guide link. It is ALL in there!
