Is there some sort of trick to this? Our vet removed the syringe that comes with the bottle as it was in KG dosages for dogs, and gave us a 1ml syringe but unlike the actual syringe which has an end wide enough to fit the end of the bottle..the 1ml syringes are the same size. So far i've been squeezing what roughly looks like 0.2ml into the bottle cap and taking it up in the syringe that way but it's a bit hit and miss, surely theres an easier way? I'm not sure I trust myself to just cut the top of the bottle off so I can draw it up that way but thats plan B XD

Remove the cap at the top (I use a knife to wiggle it off as it is otherwise hard to get into the tight join at first) and use the wider opening for a normal syringe. Just don't overturn the bottle! ;)

Thankyou! I knew I must have been missing something. I'll give it a try :) and thanks for the heads up about over turning the bottle, that sounds exactly like something I would do!

Haha! It's reassuring to know its not just me that does these things. It worked, thankyou so much, I cant believe I never noticed that bit came off :lol!:

You're not the only one that didn't realise it would come off! Wish I'd known before, hopefully tomorrow is Bracken's last day on Metacam, we are back to the vets on Tuesday. I have been managing to fit the syringe in the end of the bottle to fill it but I lost some a couple of times because I tipped it up without holding the syringe in tight enough.

My vet helpfully takes that top bit off for me so all I have to do is suck the correct amount up in the syringe. I also have to tell myself not to turn the bottle upside down!

I use the syringe that comes with the bottle ..... what a pity your vet removed it .
