Over the last week i have agreed to take in some guinea pigs from to different people, i have been trying to get hold of them for days as i actually have homes waiting for some of them but they don't return my calls.

I mean i am the one doing them the favour but they are ignoring me! It is sooooo annoying. If someone rings me today asking me to take some in what do i do, i mean i have the room but now don't know if the empty cages will be taken up with these ones or not.

I'm soooo frustrated i could scream.
 
They have probably rehomed them and cant be bothered to explain. That happened to me a while back. A lady was desperately looking for a home for her 2 piggies and I responded. She told me she would phone me when she got home to give me all the details and I never heard from her again. She didnt answer phone or emails again rolleyes
 
We had the same problem this Monday. Someone phoned asking if we could take in 2 sows as they were moving house and had nowhere for them to go. They phoned at 6pm and said they would be round by 8pm. I considered in genuine as I'd already seen their advert elsewhere. Yet no show and no explanation. rolleyes
 
mine was more opposite but kind of similar.When i had a rescued litter of pups,
People viewed them at 4 weeks old but weren't allowed to take home until 8-10 weeks after all vet work and stuff,
well i had 3 reserved and when it got to 11 weeks and they hadnt called i called them,2 people had gone and gotten different pups because the wait for mine was to long,
and 1 person didnt respond,in the meantime while i thought these pups were already taken i had alot of nice people that wanted them and i said oh there reserved, stupid me,those pups didnt find homes until 16 weeks old and because i had them longer it prevented me from taking more from the pound:(
 
Sad fact of running a rescue I'm afraid - very rude of people especially when you're the one helping them, there's nothing you can do except perhaps be more hard/ specific - 'yes, I do have room to take them if you can get them to me by X date' or perhaps operate a waiting-list system - so if you don't have room right now you can keep them on the list - I always ask people to let me know if they change their minds or find homes or pigs elsewhere but some just don't bother
