I think Nugget's feeling a bit better, he's certainly a bit lighter.

This was one long poop I broke it picking it up. It's got broken at both ends so it must have been even bigger! Normal size poop and 10p coin for perspective. Nugget is a lot brighter today but he still won't eat hay so will be syringe fed for a few days yet.

Here he is for anyone that doesn't know what he looks like. This is a photo I took a few months ago, he's not allowed grass at the moment.

Ouch! Leonard did one similar while coming out of an episode of gut stasis. I was so impressed I bagged it and brought it to his vet visit 😅 I bet he's feeling much better after passing that.

He's much brighter but he still won't eat hay. Can you remember how long Leonard took to get back to eating hay? Nugget's on Baytril for another 3 weeks. I'm hoping I don't have to syringe feed him for that long, at least not more than a couple of top ups a day. I really admire you and all you do for your piggies. I've had 4 poorly ones recently, medicating/feeding 3 at once, it's really hard work remembering who's had/having what despite lists taped to the kitchen cupboards!

He was given a metaclopramide injection while at the vet and I'm fairly sure he was picking at hay by the evening, although he needed multiple injections as well as some oral doses to get him as back on track as possible. This was near the end of his life though so between a bladder surgery, dental, long weeks of 2 different antibiotics he had been quite knocked around and never really fully recovered.

Unfortunately you may be looking at needing to syringe feed the whole 3 weeks, unless your vet thinks swapping antibiotics may help? Shelly always reacted awfully to baytril, but swapped to sulfatrim she was eating after a few days.

I have a notebook that's full of what everyone is currently on, it changes so quickly these days I'll need a new one soon 😅 it's not so bad once you get into a routine though.

Thanks @Eriathwen at least I'm only syringe feeding 2 now. The meds are okay I'm into a good routine with those. I will probably have to syringe a little bit of recovery food to these 2 for the full time anyway to get the probiotics into them as they won't take them otherwise. I had to do the same with Red, he's just on Metacam now and will take it in the cage. Brillo is being a little star and having the probiotics straight into his mouth without the need for feed with it. He doesn't put up a fight with the nebuliser either. Nugget is a little devil with everything, it's all fear related really, he chucks syringes across the room if given a chance, tonight he shook like a wet dog does with a face full of recovery food and covered me, the sofa and the cushions with it, luckily all washable. I'm just glad they are all looking so much brighter. I thought I was coming home from the vet without Caspy on Monday after a really horrible night.
