hiya
i'm going away for three days this week coming and my cousin (in her late 20's not a kid), is coming in to feed them cuddle and exercise them etc. the thing is she can only come in once a day and i usually feed them twice a day. so what i thought was that i could ask her to give them loads and then they should be ok. the other thing i thought was that i could prepare some of the food (the stuff that won't go funny) and put it in labelled boxes in the fridge and just ask her to add a few things, this way they will get all the food they need. the thing is i'm struggling to think of menus and what won't go funny. Is it ok to do this and can you come up with any menus? thanks a lot! :)

Give them hay to eat over the longest period that she will leave them.
Readigrass (1 handful each) is also good for overnight/long periods of time.
Carrots don't go off,
bunches of Dill/Coriander put in water out of the sun but near a light source,
Spring Green bunch in a bowl of water to keep it fresh (just put the 'root' end in like you would flowers,
celery- a root in the fridge (not in water)
a melon that she could cut up
tomatoes/apples to cut up

Just make sure that she stuffs the hay racks as well and they should be fine.

You can get big bales from horse feed supply shops, or small pet bags from the pet shop, Burgess do a forage thats similar I think- this might be available from your vet. Its also available online from SPH Supplies Check their postage rates to see how much it is to send, there is a flat rate for up to certain weights. The one you want is Friendly Estates Grass. A bag of Oxbow/Alpine hay would be as good though, mine don't like the herbal ::)
