:(I picked Lenko up last night and found that the hair on his back right thigh has gone, almost like has has been shaved as it's really fuzzy. Have brought some lice powder today and have thought about bathing him but don't want to irratate it as it looks like dry skin. Lenko is a little shy and likes to be under a fleece when he is out of the hutch. I wash his beeding but don't use any powder or conditioner but could it be that with the central heating being on that he is sweating and getting to hot. Have checked crumpy and he is ok but will also give him the same treatment as Lenko.
Does any one have any ideas.?

Could be mites. That brings on hair loss. My girls had this and the skin looked dry. I would seek advice from a vet I'm using Xeno 450 at the mo which is what is needed for mites. I wouldn't bath them until you know what it is.

Good luck with it. :)

Dry skin and hair loss could be a number of things. A good piggie vet would be the best person to help you diagnose. Basic ideas would be a skin problem - parasitic or fungal - but there could be any reason for the hairloss. Has he got dry skin anywhere else on his body?

Rocky has lost all tummy fur..... the vet says her ovarian cyst has shrunk so surely the fur would grow back? I'm interested to hear what people say (apologies for hijacking thread but I thought it would be easier than starting a similar one).
