Good luck to our wee boy for his abscess op tomorrow :( mummy and daddy and your little brother and sister will be thinking of you and wish you a speedy recovery so you can come home

Love you Jules (and Mo too) x

I was thinking about him today. Tomorrow is his big day, everything crossed all goes well for him. xx

Well folks its a waiting game now.....

Jules is with Alister the V.E.T

Will update as soon as I hear anything even though I shouldn't be on tinternet at work :))

good luck jules from your cousins starsky, whisky, sugar and spice thanx also to laura vedra and v.e.t man they have all done a wonderful job and I'm sure hel soon be home again.:(|)

Still not heard anything, but for those waiting for news will catch you up.

My mum dropped Jules off this morning, Alistair phoned me at 11ish, and has said he will do what he can. If the abscess has affected the bone there is not really anything he can do, but what he will certainly do is clear the abscess out and stitch antibiotic capsules into the cavity.

But yes it is just a waiting game now. And I'm getting impatient! :))

karen, it's your lunch break, and anyway a close member of the family is having a delicate operation.

stitching antibiotics into the cavity - never heard of that before. hopefully it will all absorb rather than create a focus for more infection to pool around

hopefully there will be some good news soon
come on Big Guy, we all want you back in good health as soon as possible

I remember Vedra did the same with the antibiotic capsules in another members pig - lovelygirl's Jive had a post neuter abscess, very very stubborn one at that, stitching antibiotic capsules into the cavity was one part of the treatment.

If I've heard nothing from Alistair in the next half hour I will phone and chase things up.

Thanks Laura and Becca I have everything crossed here that the little fella is behaving for Alistair and his op is going ok :) xx

I just phoned and the nurses reckon he can be colleced at 5.30pm. I pushed them for earlier as my mum doesn't want to hit traffic, and got 5.30 instead of 5.45...well it is earlier!

Will update again when he's back here. :)

yay:<> Jules coming back. let's hope he's been ok with the anaestheticxoxo

Laura, i wasn't meaning to criticise about the abx. Him needing it is just an indication of how serious things have been with him.
Please give him a kiss from me
becca

Good news that Jules has made it through the op; fingers crossed for a good and quick recovery!

I think the things they can use to treat animals nowadays is amazing I am so amazed by animal medicine :)

Glad he has no stones and great that he has new pain meds x

I finally got on the forum (wouldn't let me on). I will update his medical thread.

It's not 100% wonderful news, a nice solid chunk of it is though, just one thing which has upset me somewhat, but I have talked Karen and Paul through it. Right I will stop talking cryptically and go update his thread in Health and Illness!
