Hello again I would just like some advice on what kinda of food would be good for guinea pigs I knwo I need added vitman C they always have a bowl of mixed veg and an occasional bit of fruit which consists of romaine lettuce, bell pepper, cucumber and maybe some apple, tomato or maybe even banana (just to say I only put on type of fruit in with their food to avoid an upset stomach due to acidity in some and lip sores never all three like I listed in case it sounds like that xD) But after the stress with guinea pig so far with ringworm and all that I don't really want to shop at pets at home and as I don't have a car I would like to get them from my local grocery store like asda or morrisons so I can give my parents a bit of money towards their food when they go to dot heir weekly shopping so I found these two

Wagg Guinea pig crunch- Says it has Vit C, A and E - Ingredients
Wheat , Peas , Oatfeed , Wheatfeed , Toasted Soya , Oats , Flaked Maize , Lucerne , Sunflower Ext. , Whole Maize , Vegetable Oil , Apple (4% in Green Pellet) , Grape (4% in Green Pellet) , Grass , Syrup , Carob Meal , Minerals , Linseed (0.4%) , Yeast (0.04%) , *Colourants, Antioxidant , *Colourants - from a mineral source found in nature . (Just realised the part about the colourant thing so unsure about this one tbh)
Harringtons optimum guinea pig food - It says it has Vit C, A and E - Ingredients
Sunflower Ext. , Wheatfeed , Grass , Oatfeed , Maize , Apple (4%) , Grape (4%) , Carob Meal , Vegetable Oil , Minerals , Yeast (0.1%) .
Yeah thos are some examples any more would be good :)
Just another last question I heard that vitamin A is linked to some sort of kidney or liver failure should I be too concerned about this as I find myself worried about any food with this in now but they will need so is this true or just something I should moderate? Also along with this food they have some pellets mixed in :)

Thanks :)

Sometimes it's a case of what our piggie likes as well. Mine prefer museli but get burgess excel nuggets as well as its a better diet and no selective feeding. It's personal choice as well, budget can be a factor. Check out the food reviews.

I used to buy wagg as it was cheap and the piggies liked it but they were selective feeding from it. My fella brought them some burgess excel last year for christmas and they liked that too so I spend a little bit more on buying burgess now as its all in pellets so they can't only eat certain bits of it meaning that they get all the goodness in the food

My pigs only liked one or two bits from the wagg muesli so I changed to oxbow pellets - which they wouldn't even sniff at! Now they fluctuate between liking the blackcurrent and oregano burgess excel and mint sensitive nuggets - I think they still like to selective feed so using two different 'flavours' without compromising on nutrition seems to work well :) plus it's about £5.50 a bag and lasts a month for two pigs!
