Junior Guinea Pig
Dearest Gibson,
Almost 6 years since your crazy little soul came into our lives, I can't believe we have had to say goodbye to you, it feels too soon.
It has been almost 6 years of grunting (never when at a check-up, of course!), of trying to wheek, even though no sound came out, of biting empty food bowls to let me know you are starving, and most importantly of cuddles and kisses, love and lap-time wees
Only once did you really worry me, we got you to Northampton as quickly as we could, you couldn't eat, you lost so much weight, what was the matter, would you be ok? Of course, you had a particularly tough bit of hay stuck between your teeth.. Only you, Gibson!
When your brother Higgins was ill in December 2020, you sat with (on!) hin to keep him warm, you mourned when he crossed Rainbow Bridge but you knew it's where he wanted to go. Then came Keith. You taught him all of the good tricks, the hungry face, the cage climbing, the hay burrowing - he's the piggie he is because of his old man Gibson.
Thank you for waiting for me to be with you in the morning. It was a privilege to be with you on the last part of your journey. I am certain Higgins was there waiting for you - I bet he couldn't wait to get his bezzie-mate back for some games!
I will miss you every day, my gorgeous boy. My heart is broken x
