It is with great sadness that I have to post in Rainbow Bridge again. We lost our beloved Ruby yesterday (Sunday) after a very short illness. Ruby would have been six in March, she was a truly wonderful piggy and will be very greatly missed. She was always the first out to great me in the piggy shed every morning and was very generous with her piggy kisses :) - something I shall miss greatly.8...

Sleep well my darling girl, popcorn freely with your sister Roxy and all your other piggy friends.

One of my favourite pictures of Ruby

Doing what she did best, sharing some fresh grass with her pals:) and no they couldn't wait for me to put the grass in the run!

Ah Sandra, I know I've already said this, but I'm so sorry about Ruby. It's little consolation, but at least she went quietly at home with you all where she needed to be. I'll never forget her similarity to our sweet Scampy, even down to the matching little pink ear, she was a lovely little lady.

RIP Ruby, you will be greatly missed. xx

I'm so very sorry for your loss. She was certainly a beautiful little girl, and you have some wonderful photographs of her. I love the one in the garden basket.
RIP sweet Ruby.
Sue

She was a lovely girl, great that you have such lovely photos of her.

Oh Sandra I am so sorry to hear about Ruby, she was absolutely beautiful.

Sleep tight little one, you will be missed but never forgotten xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Very sorry you lost Ruby Sandra, I enjoyed the pics of her you posted over the last couple of years, some of which are below. She certainly was a lovely lady x>>

RIP Ruby, sleep peacefully with your piggy friends xx

Thank you all for your lovely messages - losing these little furballs never gets any easier, even when you know that they have had a long and happy life.

The piggy shed seems very strange without Ruby, the gang aren't quite sure what is going on - Ruby was boss piggy (even though Jazz our neutered boar likes to think he is!:)) ) so I think the others are trying to sort out a new hierachy.

Thankfully Ruby wasn't ill for very long. She had been booked into the vets for an MOT last week (she had slowed down of late, which I put down to her advancing years), however on Friday she didn't look or smell quite right. Nicola gave her a thorough check over including teeth (which were fine) etc. and said she thought Ruby might be suffering from kidney problems due to her advanced years (hence the smell, which I can only describe as being a little like nail polish), so we were going to keep a close eye on her. The girls and I moved her indoors and it became apparent that things were taking a turn for the worse quite quickly. She had lots of cuddles and favourite foods on Saturday and we were each able to give her a final stroke before she passed away snuggled up in her bed on Sunday morning.8...

RIP sweetheart, we all miss you, but want to thank you for sharing your little life with us and your piggy friends.

It is good that her illness was only short, so she did not have to suffer for too long.
