Guinea Slave
Adult Guinea Pig
On Saturday we had to say goodbye to the wonderful Squeak. She had had heart disease for a long time and finally it caught up with her. It was all very peaceful and she spent her last hour asleep on me in the sun at home before going on her way.
squeak was an older adoption guinea, she was adopted after her friend died and she needed a home. She was very aloof in the early days and took a while to settle into the herd but she established herself eventually and became a matriarch right to the end. She was not fussed about cuddles but loved watching telly!
When we moved house in November we moved them to a lovely shed with a large window overlooking the garden. She spent hours and hours lying by that window and loved it. The sun came through there in the mornings and she loved lying with the sun on her. The garden is old and so is the grass, which must have been very special because she loved it so much! When I took the scissors from the drawer (a sign grass is on its way) she would shout like crazy and rush to the window to watch me cut the grass. Then she would dance up and down on her back legs waving with her front paws in the air until she got the grass. She was doing this just a few days before she passed. And wow did she wheek loudly.
she was a wonderful character, a wonderful friend and we will miss her little character terribly. Goodnight my sweet angel, we will never forget you xxxxxxx
