GP Forum Meet Up - ? November

The Mill Hotel, Gretna, in the peaceful Scottish
I am considering having a GP Forum meet up here at my house, The Mill Hotel.

As we do live at a hotel, anyone who wished to come and stay overnight could book a room to do so. There is a travel lodge half a mile away which to be honest is cheaper as I won't be able to reduce rates.

The "meet up" as such would be at my house and as the Rescue room is around 30 feet in total I am sure we could hold quite a few in there and any overspill could chill in the kitchen/dining room area, where I could put on a buffet for everyone and we could then toddle over to the Bar in the Hotel.

I would need to speak to Graham to come up with a suitable date but am putting feelers out to see if anyone would be interested.

I may do a raffle also to raise funds for Rescue as it would be a great opportunity to do so, nothing major just a prize raffle in the house - a bit of fun really.

This is just a thought and may or not come off - as I mentioned, just putting feelers out at the moment.

ha ha they wouldn't sit still enough on the table.

I am thinking a general raffle just for fun, make up/nail polishes/body and bath stuff (I do Avon can you tell) - also the odd bottle of booze or two - anything really - and will get folk around here to donate stuff too.

Oooh I can bring raffle stuff! Who knows if lots of people are coming it could be a huge piggie event!
 
Oooh! I'd love to come but I'll be on holiday until the 21st November.

I really should say for those of you who want to come along and also stay at our Hotel then the website is:

You can have a virtual tour of the hotel and grounds blah blah blah if you wanna see where you are staying etc.,


On the Home Page - right hand side it says "stunning Mill Forge tours" or something like that. Its not just for weddings that's just the site I have directed you all too.

I wish I could come, it's years since I've been to Scotland (which I love), and it would be super to meet you .... but it's sadly too far. I hope it comes off though, it sounds a great idea.

A get together sounds a fantastic idea! I would love to meet everyone on here.Scotland's quite a way for me but I've always wanted to go sthere so depending on the dates, perhaps I could make it the perfect excuse for a weekend away!
 
Oooh, it's a maybe from us. Will depend on if we are about and I can convince the other half :) we could maybe combine it with our normal twice yearly trip to glasgeee :))
 
Been looking at the weddings lol. We have been talking about organising our wedding soon :D what a great day out that would be
 
Is a bit too far for me to come unfortuanately but is a great idea. Also small world, a colleague from work got married at your hotel a few years back. I remember thinking what a lovely venue when she booked it.
 
Is it the Dumfries Travel lodge that is the closest to you? Would be handy if you knew what date you were thinking of as they have offers on if you book in advance. They're non-refundable unfortunately though.
 
well 31st oct is hubby and I's first wedding anniversary and we we're hoping to get away for a long weekend so maybe we could come too :)

If you look up Welcome Break (is that the one with the big swan picture?) - anyhow its Gretna - its about half a mile from here.

It's a bit far for me sadly. I would have loved to have come but phobic of flying - esp in small planes in winter and it's a bit too far to drive.
