For the past week my two girls haven't seem to be enjoying their pellets as normal. They're eating their greens and hay but the pellets are staying in the bowl for much longer than usual. I use the Burgess Blackcurrent and Oregano pellets which they used to eat very happily. Should I change brands or just wait and see? They don't seem unwell in any way.

Hi! Have they had more grass than usual due to the warm weather? Or have you started a new pack lately that tastes a bit funny to them?

Pellets make only about 15% of a piggy's diet, so it's no catastrophe if they don't eat much.
Make sure you give them a god selection of veg with each meal so they get all the necessary vitamins with their food.

Mine haven't been happy about the odd batch of pellets over the years. I usually changed it and it was OK.

I found that mine also went off the Blackcurrant and Oregano ones after a while. Fussy things don't know what is good for them!

I tend to either feed two brands of plain pellet at the same time, or alternate the brands I buy. A few months ago, I was giving the regular Burgess Nuggets in the day, and the Blackcurrant and Oregano only at night. I prefer to give them a bit of variety in that way, just to encourage them to keep some interest in their pellets (despite them being relatively unimportant in the diet). It may be worth introducing a second brand (such as Oxbow Cavy Cuisine, Science Selective Guiea Pig, or Wagg Optimum) to spark their interest again, and consider giving them that little bit of variety to maintain their interest.
