gravity bin feeders?

No idea, I've not come across them. What would be the reason for them?

it's too keep their food protected outside, and stops mess.
and my pigs are going in a hutch outside when the weather has stopped being weird! and want to try and keep foxes/rats away, but wondered if they actually worked.

It wouldn't make any difference with regards to foxes and mice and rats would still be able to access the food so it wouldn't really help with them either. I'm not convinced there's any real advantages to them.

I think it could potentially encourage over eating. Plus the food can still be knocked on the floor of the cage once it reaches the bowl of the gravity feeder.

The only time I used a gravity feeder, gosh maybe 10+ years ago, one of my young and slightly stupid guinea pigs tried to get inside it just the once when it got empty and became stuck. She had to be rescued!
