It must be the xmas bribe. you can have one of those if you get rid of that. In my local ad-mag there are ads galore for freebies. Free cats, free dogs free rabbits and 5 yes 5! ads for free guinea pigs, even baby ones. Why on earth do people get these animals if they don't really want them? >:(
 
They were probably accidental or unwated litter, which i think is really sad.
I read in a book, that was only published about 3 years ago, that breeding from your female guinea pig is a safe guard way to stop your guinea getting womb cancer later in life!
I wonder how many unwated guinea were born because of that stupid comment! :(
