I think Frank wants to live in the vets. Three times in not even a week. Seriously. First guinea pig, 9 months, 7 trips to the vets. note for anyone opting for guinea pigs and having a browse they are not cheap - down £400 on vet bills.

So, today, ten minutes away from compulsory lecture and what do I notice... Franks limping and holding his leg up, still happily running around though and chopsin' to me.

I don't know how he did it, but he did. Luckily my OH was in, so he took Frank to the vet whilst I was in uni at 3pm.

Vet said he's injured his knee somehow (no fracture or break). So he's on metacam 0.3ml a day - she said for a week, but metacam for a week is excessive to me - for his back he only had it 5 days? So I don't know - we'll bring his mite follow-up appointment forward to Tuesday, and kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

I just think Frank hates me or himself! :'(

His eye is getting better though, woo!

Glad Frank's eye is getting better.
I was prescribed Metacam for a week for Bonnies' injured hind leg. She also had a Baytril injection. I'm £79 poorer!
She had just sprained or knocked it somehow. It was better within a week.

They're so damned fragile :(
Glad Bonnie got better though, oh I don't mind too much about it being a week then :')
Don't think he had a baytril infection though? should he have?

Oh lordy, Frank is determined to put you through the mill! Glad nothing is broken, apart from some frayed nerves on your part. Keep your chin up flower, best wished Jenny x

Perhaps your vet did not deem a Baytril injection necessary, TFG. The Metacam will do the job. Did he give you Metacam for cats? I was told to fill it up until it reaches the letter M on the tube! How about you?

We just got given a normal syringe this time so it's 0.3ml, but when he hurt his back it was just to the cat?
haha

Sounds like it could be a sprain maybe. The Metacam course sounds reasonable but hopefully there will be an improvement by the time you go back to the vets.

Thank you, hopefully! He seems to be quite the trooper! His back injury was healed within 5, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, just wish he'd stay out of the wars!

Healing wheeks coming your way!

My piggies haven't exactly been cheap either. Firstly Caramel bullied Doughnut giving him scratches and wounds, causing flystrike which required an emergency vet. Then about a week later, I brought him back to the vets (not emergency) because I thought he had blood in his urine, but it turns out that's just the colour of it when it oxidises. And another week or so later (can't remember exactly when, possibly 2 weeks?), both piggies were taken to the vet because Caramel most certainly had mites and Doughnut was brought along in case he had too. The vet prescribed a spot treatment which was used, then told us to give it to them two weeks later to finish it off. The mites cleared up and they haven't been to the vets since, fingers crossed! :)

Thank you @Ruby Inferno ! I'm hoping this is the last thing bless him!

Hope that your piggies will be okay now! Fingers crossed! My boys had spot on and 3 injections :/

Oh Frank, you should be kinder to your mummy and try to stop injuring yourself!

My Pixel is going through a similar period of devious injuries, I'm sure they wait until the worst possible times!

Oh my word Frank!

I'm sending you some cotton wool Heather! Pleased to hear nothing is broken and that his eye is improving. Padding his house sounds a good plan too XD. Hugs x

@katanamoon I had a long discussion with him today about how inappropriate his attention seeking is... He just chatted back like we was talking fields and rainbows haha!
He should be kinder to all three of us, OH was just like... In despair.
And I think they do wait for the worst times, hence what you've read on the other thread and all he's been up to silly sausage! Hope your girlie is okay ! X

@My3cuteBoys Thanks kell!
I know 'oh my word' he's such a shocker... Bless him! I could do with that cotton wool to wrap him in, his house and everything in it... He keeps looking for his ramp... Ha like he's getting that back any time soon! And the OH just wasted my wine - spilling it all over me, why just why!?!?! Hahaha
Xx

Thanks Lee he's been disobeying doctors orders of rest, so I'm assuming it's definitely doing something! :') x
