Guinea 140 cage from Zoo-plus

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting this cage for my girls as they really need more room. Could someone help me with the measurements please? It's 140cm x 71cm x 48cm. I understand the 140cm applies to the length but does the 71cm apply to the width or the height? Sorry to sound dumb! I'm just trying to plot out how big the cage really is! Many thanks :)

The cage is 4ft 7 inches by 2ft 4 inches the 71 is how deep the cage is. The 48 is the height which is 1ft 7 inches.

Thanks Louise :) So the 140 wouldn't really be big enough for 3 piggies then? I'd like to increase my herd possibly next year (with a rescue piggie) so don't want to buy this cage if I'm then limiting their space. I may have to opt for the C & C option instead. The only problem being I'll have to pinch the spare bedroom and hubby may not be to pleased ;D

5x2 is big enough for 3 pigs. 4x2 for 2. Hope hubby agrees, maybe he will get interested in the pigs too! :)

Thanks Lez. I'll have to have a think about what to do. I may just have to restrict myself and stick with just the two piggies. I'm a bit confused though. Am I right in saying that the preferred cage size for 3 guineas is 5ft by 2ft. Well, yes, the zoo plus is 5inches short in length, at 4ft 7inches but the depth is over 2ft, it's 2ft 4ins, so doesn't the 4inches extra make up for the 5 inch loss on the length?

Hope I'm mkaing sense! ;D ;D
 
Hehe Helen yep you are making sense I've 2 girls in a 3.7 by 2.5 C&C so the extra inches do count, is the square foot that matters. :)
 
Thanks for that! I really thought I was cracking up there! I was pretty sure its the overall square footage that matters. So I may still get a 140 but am now measuring up for a 5ft x 2ft C & C in the computer room (where they are living already)

Decisions, decisions!

Hubby does love the guineas too by the way. He often chats to them when he's on the PC. I just don't think he likes the idea of me using up a spare bedroom for them. Not as though he ever uses it I must add :o We sleep in the same room, honest! It's in case we decide to have another baby, that's all.

I've a spare room and would love it as a pig room, but peter wants it as a computer room...lol No chance! :D
