Guinea age?

Hey all just wondered, might sound thick but as some of you know my piggies were abandoned and the guy I got them off said they were about 6 months old, but I'm not sure, they were pretty big...?! :o Is there any way to estimate a piggies age? I'm guessing not but just thought Id ask!

I always go by the nails. My foster boy Choccy or should I say Boomer had thicker nails so I would say he is an older pig maybe 1/2 the original owners said 9 months but my two 10 month old boars have very thin nails. My 2 foster boys Ant and Dec have thin nails so I would suspect they are around 6 months. You can usually tell from the size of the pig especially if you have others to compare.

They have quite thick nails, but they should be about 1 3/4 years now if they were 6 months when i got them so I'm not sure...just wondering! Maybe if Id asked at the time...this is them when I got them...

Aww they are gorgeous, aren't they unusual? Lovely colouring. What were there weights when you got them? Have they put a lot on? If they were 6 months when you got them there should have been a noticable gain.

When they were just under a year
I guess its coz Muffin is ill and I do worry that shes older than I thought

There is no sure way of telling but the nails are an indication.
Older piggies nails tend to be less sharp and rounder (if that makes sense)

Have they grown since you got them?

6 months could be right then, i have 1 six month old who is 950g and an almost 8 month old who is 1050g
