I live in Scampton village, famous for the Dambust
It's my daughters birthday today and she asked me to make her a guinea pig cake. I am terrible at creativity :red
However, I have just made these :))
The chocolate one with the orange patches is a chocolate cake and is modelled on Poppy pig and the grey one is a lemon cake with icing and is modelled on my Holly pig :) OH was in hysterics and thinks they look like a mouse and a bat :))

Bethany hasn't seen them yet as she's in town with her friend, I'm going to meet them to see Harry Potter and then when we get home I shall show her them :)

I think they are fab, well done!

I had a hedgehog cake for my birthday. Long story short...my mum baked one for my 3rd birthday and my dad thought it looked nothing like a hedgie and found it completely hysterical. So - just to be novel - I asked for one this year (for my 20th birthday) and she made a very delicious one. Didn't look much better but it tasted good!

lol, they are fab! I wish I had a cake like those for my birthday! :)

Birthday cakes

I'm sure your daughter will be over the moon with the cakes.

But I do like your OH's idea of a bat and a mouse! lol! Not quite what you were aiming for!

WOW your daughter will love them. My mum has always made cakes like that for our birthdays, have to make my own next week though.

Those are the best cakes I have ever seen! xx>>>

They look wonderful!
I hope they aren't too cute to eat, though~

Wonderful! What did you use? Wouldn't mind doing this for my girls! I usually buy a cake, never think to make one or buy a chocolate log and then add to it! :))

I think they look great! I had to laugh at your OH's comments though, sorry!

I particularly like the poo beans, great job!

I think both cakes are wonderful, and look nothing like bats or mice! Was she impressed?

Wow they are wicked.
Well done you,i hope your daughter liked them.
Just so you know my birthday is in october :))

xxxxx

if you modeled them on known piggies how could you bear to chop their head off? LOL

i have seen a hedgehog cake like that and it was made of pink spunge

i gagged when it was cut up

Excellent, thinking Scampton is just down the road may have to do some chocolate piggy napping:))

My birthday in a few weeks think i might challenge my mum to get me a piggy cake LOL

Did your daughter like her cakes!
She loved them :) She did laugh a bit though :))
I made them using a loaf tin and carved rotund shapes :))
I used a lemon madeira recipe and a chocolate sponge recipe :)
I must admit we started eating from the bottom end and worked up to their little faces which I couldn't bear to eat, we gave those bits to grandma and grandad :)
