My guinea pig has recently been to the vet because of a very serious looking eye problem. Over the summer he was taken to the vet because of labored breathing, and we found out he had a growth in his nose. I took him to the vet just a few days ago because of his eye, and they told me the growth was probably cancerous and has spread to his eye. Since then, the eye has gotten much worse. I'm not sure if he's in pain but is still eating and drinking normally. I can hardly look at his eye, and I guess I'm just looking for some guidance about what, if anything, I can do to help him. His eye has gotten this way very quickly. Where abouts are you? as this forum is based in the UK and used by members all over the world it would help if you could alter your User CP to show your country/state etc..

Hello, I am from the United States. I'm taking him back to the vet today, probably to put him down... I was up at 4AM with him this morning because he was coughing and sneezing so badly. I am thinking the growth in his nose is getting bigger and making it really difficult for him to breathe. Getting his eye removed isn't really feasible for me. I live in a small town and I'm not sure anyone here has the proper equipment to even put him under anesthesia. He doesn't seem comfortable at all and I'm afraid things won't get any better, as the cancer will probably spread elsewhere. Thank you both for your concern and well wishes!
