Guinea pigs are beautiful creatures and should not be killed!

I couldn't watch this....I'm sick!

I don't think any blame can be placed on the snake but the humans who did this should be prosecuted.

Unfortunately there are countries that allow this sort of thing to go on. Thank god in the UK its banned! But the US allow it.

We have 3 snakes, 2 eat mice, the other one eats quail eggs. While I don't like the thought of snakes eating anything rodent, they do need to eat and have the right to eat these things.

Bigger snakes eat rabbits which I find just as disturbing.

I can't watch that video so I don't know if it was a live guinea or not, but whatever, I wish these people wouldn't post these kinds of things on youtube! Its quite upsetting.

YUK. No way I'm watching that video. I do know it goes on but don't want to see it for myself - too upsetting.

Kill the snake? Not anything to do with the snake, it's the owners.

Best thing to do is not to watch these videos and not a great idea to post them on a forum for guinea pig lovers.

These videos really are horrible and I have heard of others where snake owners feed live rabbits and even kittens. They excuse themselves by saying it's 'nature' but in my opinion it is NOT! At least in the natural world the animals would have a chance to escape.
(some) Snake owners apparently scour the free ads and suchlike looking for small animals 'free to a good home' which is why from now on I will be keeping my eyes open for guinea pigs offered free and taking them in until I can get them to a rescue.
These people may say they showing videos like this (I haven't seen it but can imagine) as educational footage - but you tube is not the place for this.

I've seen this video before. Fair enough the animal has to eat but to video it and then put it on youtube is SICK!

not all snake owners are the same!!

all we can do really is hope that guinea pigs aren't the snake's staple food :( the best possible scenario is that this was purely for 'entertainment value', and isn't a regular occurrance. i saw a similar thing a while ago with a larger lizard being fed a leopard gecko hatchling. leopard geckos are a minimum of £20 usually, so the person had spent the money solely to video 'feeding time' :(

I haven't seen the video and don't intend watching it.

Everyone makes a big deal of these videos everytime someone posts about them and I'm not for one second condoning them but what I would say though, is that we humans also contain cows/sheep etc into corners etc and kill them for our purposes - it's the same thing as the video! The animal has no chance of escape and knows exactly whats coming! Humans breed animals for food and for testing products on!

We breed animals and test beauty and household products on them for our own purposes. That to me is more shocking than that video will ever be!

I haven't seen the video but I would imagine it would be quite disturbing for guinea pig lovers.

Its not the poor snake's fault, it IS in their nature to see guinea pigs as food... They eat rodents in the wild.

I got Poppy from a rescue centre, she was rescued from an auction as a pregnant piggie and apparently some suggestion was made that she would be ideal for food... It just wasn't said in so many words if you know what I mean.

Turned out she wasnt actually pregnant but at least she's safe with me and lucky now.
