Hi!
Please follow the tips in our ringworm guide. They tell you exactly how you need to clean/disinfect what and which disinfectants do work against fungal and which actually kill ringworm spores (there are very few of those, F10 for the UK is the only one that is proven to also kill ringworm spores).
Yes, you need to deep clean everything in the cage, including the cage, with a disinfectant that kills fungal and ideally also kills fungal spores; they are tiny and get into all the cracks. Most common products only address bacteria, but not fungus. This means that you need to clean every little crack as well or throw anything away that you cannot wash or dunk and let dry. Any fabrics in contact with the guinea pigs need to be washed at a higher temperature (see the guide). You need to carefully disinfect or at least really thoroughly wash your hands before and after touching anything in contact with ringworm guinea pigs.
If you have handled your guinea pigs after handling a ringworm guinea pig without thoroughly washing/disinfecting your hands and changing your pullover if you have used the same for cuddling etc. then I would strongly recommend to give your own guinea pigs a fungal bath, too, to prevent an outbreak. Bathe them first, then the companion and bathe the ringworm piggy last, so there is the least risk of transmission of fungal spores. Always feed, handle, groom and treat an infectious piggy last.
Please wear disposable gloves whenever you deal with a ringworm piggy and make sure that any fabrics (including your own clothing in contact with a ringworm piggy) is washed at at least 60 C and therefore cannot become an instrument of further infection.
Ringworm infection in humans is called tinea.
