Guinea Pig Daily Nutritional Chart

Hello all,

I have been looking for a while on the internet for a chart of the daily nutritional needs of a guinea pig, however I have been unsuccessful. I particularly want to use it in order to measure the correct amount of each veggie to give to my guinea pigs (so I can cross check recommended levels to match with vegetable nutrients).

Does anybody here know if one exists? Or how I could go about getting hold of one?

Welcome to the forum :)

Aim for 1 cup of mixed veg split into breakfast and tea. Unlimited hay at all times and a small bowl of pellets morning and night.

Diet should be 80-85% good quality hay, 10-15% veg, 5% pellets

We feed typically
Morning: Cucumber, Celery, Red/green/yellow pepper (deseeded)
Tea: Cucumber, Lettuce/coriander 4 times a week then subsitiuting kale, cabbage, parsley the other two days
add carrot, broccoli, spinach, green beans, baby corn occasionally

piggies enjoy variation and some piggies like some veg but not others. So lots of experimentation to find out what they like

Hi Lee, thanks for the reply.

I have seen the guinea pig lynx chart - the thing is that only lists the nutrients in the veg/fruit - I am after daily nutritional requirements for a guinea pig, for example:
30mg vitamin C

I don't think there is much research out there to the exact requirements. Between us and Guinea Lynx and a few other sites we have a wealth of knowledge available. Guinea Lynx is the most respected Medical Website there is, it is an amazing resource.

Yes that is what I seem to find - it is a pity you can't find the exact info anywhere (I'm surprised no scientific studies have been done!), but I agree that Guinea Lynx is very good. How is the information on that site sourced? As far as I can tell it is by somebody with a general interest/knowledge through being an owner of guinea pigs.
