Hi,

My guinea pig started to have diarrhea this afternoon, and now she's not moving a lot, she's not making the little normal noises she always made when patting her, and now she's whining horribly now and then due to some pain, but I don't know what it is! I think she's trying to evacuate a bit.. but it dosen't make sense if she's having diarrhea...?
It's the first time she's like that. I haven't changed anything, his food or his environment, and she's normally in perfect health. I'm very scared of loosing her, I'm crying right now, does anyone can help me?

Edit: Now she's having spasms in the belly, and when she does she whines a bit... she looks in pain and she barely moves...

Have you tried tempting her with some of her favourite veggies? If she's not interested and fluffed up looking sad then you need to get her to the vets sharpish and they be in time to give her some antibiotics. I have had this before in my pigs and have found that if they are happily taking veg it's not too bad and can clear up, but you need to determine how bad it is: if they are not interested and in pain it can be very serious. Sorry, I don't wish to worry you :(

All i can suggest is if your piggy is in apin then take him/her to a vet.
Please make sure they are drinking because they need fluid and yes as said befor me try to temp eating with veggies or a bit of grass.
Let us know how he/she gets on at the vets
xx

No, I understand, that's why I'm really scared.. I gave her a little piece of broccoli, she took it in her teeth but didn't ate it. I'll call the vet as soon as I can, but now it's not open.. I don't even know if it's open on weekends ):
Thanks for your reply *hug*

Thanks! I'll try to call the vet as soon as I can. I tried to make her drink, but the only thing she's doing is resting, like not moving and kinda sleeping. I'll say it if there is something new!
Again, thanks for the reply *hug*

So sorry for your loss.

Have fun at rainbow bridge darling x

I'm sorry for your loss. If she was having abdominal spasms of some kind and not willing to eat, it sounds like it may have been something internal to do with the digestive system in some way. For diarrhea, fluids are the most important thing, and if it doesn't clear up in 24 hours then a sample would want to be sent to a laboratory. Sadly when these things happen, they usually happen fast (and at inconvenient times).

So sorry about your little piggy.

By the sounds of things it seems very similar to what happened to my little Humphrey about a year ago, so I know how you feel and my thoughts are with you x
