Guinea Pig Eyes

If Guinea Pig eyes look to the side do they have a divide in the middle where they cant see?

Like all prey animals, guinea pigs have a wide angle of sight sideways and upwards (much more than humans in order to spot predators quickly), but they cannot see straight ahead or straight back. The dead angle at the front is covered by the nose (sense of smell) and their long facial whiskers (sense of touch).

Guinea pigs have sharp sight only for a short distance (1-2 ft). Over longer distances, they react to sudden movements (predators).

Yes. They have wider peripheral vision that us (to the sides and over their shoulder) but have a blind spot right in front. Most prey animals have eyes to the side for broader range of vision... binocular vision with eyes tuned to the front is for predators!
