Where is the abscess located?
Thank you so much glad to hear hows bill doing ,just wish they could do it sooner rather than 10 days away but my Guinea savvy vet is mobbed just nowMy Bill had an operation to remove tumours earlier this month and he sailed through it. I’m sure your little one will do too and make a speedy recovery x
Sounds like your vet is very piggy savvy and has it all under control, piggies ideally eat right up until they get the anaesthetic (no need to starve them beforehand as they cant vomit and need to eat constantly) and a vet nurse will be offering syringe feed probably within an hour of them waking up. It may be worth buying syringe feed and 1ml syringes and some pro-C or fibreplex probiotic to have at home in case your piggy needs your help to keep eating in the first couple of days post-op but ideally with no complications piggies should only miss a couple of hours of hay munching due to surgery and anaesthesia! Best of luck with the op x
Sadly wasnt an abcess was muscle cancer so they couldnt remove the mass but it's not causing her any pain so just need to see if it spreads or thatHope all goes well on the 12th.
Jemimah sailed through her abscess & emergency spay surgery.
Like @PigglePuggle says - take in some favourite veggies and a favourite pouch or fleece.
Will be rooting for you next week
